Moving Right Along...

I am extremely excited about all the events coming up! I have been super busy meeting with brides and vendors AND the Bridal Shows went GREAT!!! They were so fun and I met lots of really sweet brides :)
I have several Fall/Winter weddings coming up (right around the corner, girls) and they are all so different and unique.... yet so so FABulous! I have also started getting calls and emails about summer 2011 weddings and cant wait to meet with those brides too!
I mentioned the Premier Bride Magazine in one of my earlier posts and now the mag is on shelves! There are so many great vendors, gorgeous pictures from real memphis weddings, and my ad looks AWESOME! They even featured CHEERS in one of the 'Around Town' sections!!! Like I said, "moving right along"
I have come to a realization about this blog and will be attempting to post helpful tips, pictures, and ideas for brides to use while planning their wedding. I figured when I started getting local brides following THEN I would start doing this. Turns out, I probably should start posting this kind of stuff SO THAT local brides will follow my blog. :) This will also give them an idea of what kind of wedding planner I am because that too is important when hiring us! Truckin' and Cheerin'

I am a horrible blogger...person....whatever....but I will try doing better :)
Wanted to update whats going on in KP's world:

First, we just got back from the Bahamas a few weeks ago. I know what youre thinking, but youre wrong! Josh, the husband, ended up with appendicitis and having surgery.... IN THE BAHAMAS!!!! He is doing better but still, not our most successful vacation!
Secondly, I am a busy body getting things ready for 2 Bridal Shows coming up!!!! The first is July 25 at the Botanic Gardens and the other is August 15 at the Hilton Hotel on Poplar. All you Bride-to-Be's make sure you attend these shows! They are very informative, you meet lots of great vendors, and dont forget to stop by CHEERS' booth and say hey!
I am also really pumped about the November wedding I just booked! The couple is great, the venues are gorgeous, and they picked out beautiful Fall colors! It's going to be a blast!!!
Finally, I forgot how out of shape I was! Minus the few runs a week and weight lifting when I can fit it in....I am sadly out of shape. I am teaching a cheer camp in California next month and have been learning all the cheers and dances that will be taught. I AM SO SORE!!!! My body has not done these moves and motions in years! This should be interesting to say the least :)

Stepping Up My Game!

first and foremost.... I must advertise this great event happening all weekend! Brides, you can get discount designer wedding gowns and the proceeds go to Stage IV Breast Cancer Survivors. This is a Great way to save money on your wedding and be able to give back! And on Friday night, V.I.P. night, there will be a fashion show, food and drinks, prizes and giveaways, AND first pick on all the gowns!!!!

Now, on to CHEERS,
I am finding more and more event planners in this area! Hints the title stepping up my game! Starting this business is keeping me super busy but I want to make sure i'm not getting lost in the crowd! I am really loving working on the events so far... and I want to continue pursuing this.... SSSSSSSSSSOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO... I gotta STEP UP MY GAME!!!!!!!! Here goes nothin'!

SOOOOO, I finally had an official logo designed! I'm really pumped at how it turned out! Let me know what you think????!!!!!


Well, for now, I'm still contemplating wether or not to accept an intern that contacted me a few weeks ago. Weighing the options to see if its feesible, but right now I'm straight down the middle! It would be nice to get stuff done for CHEERS while I am at work during the day.... but I'm afraid it really may cost me extra just to have her :(
In other news.... Meeting for a sports themed baby shower is this sunday! If you know me, you know my head is running with ideas! Hello! event planning mixed with sports.... I AM THERE!
I am also going to be working on helping with a 5K that is planned for October. It's to raise awareness for suicide prevention, which is so sad to all the people that it affects. A girl that I cheered with at Memphis Elite commited suicide several years ago, so I am more than commited to helping start up this event. She was such a sweet girl, and quite possibly the funniest person I have ever met!

So I finally gave in to the world of blogging....
It was recommended by so many that said it is a good idea, especially for a new business. I thought for my first blog it would be appropriate to let everyone know what all is going on in the life of KP! This blogspot will be specifically for my business: CHEERS Event Planning, but I've got a whole lot more going on than that!!!
First of all, I am working ALL THE TIME. I am still working at Baptist East as a Physical Therapist Assistant. I also have been working at Campbells Clinic since September as a PTA, I love it! I am the Executive Director of the National Cheer Safety Foundation, a non-profit organization dedicated to raising the bar in safety for cheerleading and youth sports. There's a lot going on at the NCSF, too! Oh yeah, I am also studying to get my CSCS (certified strength and conditioning specialist) This is helpful as a Physical Therapist Assistant but also for the foundation. It will allow my to educate cheerleaders and coaches on appropriate strengthening exercises as well as body mechanics in order to decrease injuries in the sport. ...enough of that, if you want to know more, just ask. I could talk about that stuff for days :)

My most recent endeavor is CHEERS Event Planning, I launched my website in November 2009 and things are really taking off. I did my first bridal show in February and it went Great! Thanks to my husband and friend Brandy for their help! I am creating relationships with local vendors and working on my creative eye all the time. I may even have an intern later this summer! Oh yeah, be sure to pick up the next issue of Premier Bride Magazine and look for my ad! ( I dont think it comes out until August).
My sole focus right now is: 1) finishing my certification to become a Certified Wedding and Event Planner. 2) marketing CHEERS to the memphis and surrounding areas. 3) making connections with vendors. 4) having fun planning amazing events!!!!

I guess thats it for now but be sure to stay tuned! I've got big plans in store for CHEERS Event Planning!
